21st Century Lesbian Trailer Trash

These are the mad musings of a middle aged woman, dyke, nurse, poet. I have a dog, a cat, a mobile home, and delusions of grandeur.

What I Have Learned From My Dog

It was a long and circuitous route this morning but I am confident that Michelle O'Neill will be happy to know that ultimately, she is responsible for the content of this morning's post.

Everything I have learned from my dog(s):

*How to make friends by sniffing butts.

*How to drop from frantic activity into a dead sleep in under 5 seconds.

*How to beg.

*Better ways to harass the cat.

*How to make a gourmet meal out of the trash bag.

*How to whine in a manner that is both cute and pitiful.

Which brings me to the subject of my family. I am sure they thought that by my mid 50's I would grow up to behave like an adult.

Unfortunately for them, the older I become, the more pleasure I derive from making people uncomfortable. Why wait until I'm 70 to wear purple? Life is short. I could be hit by a truck tomorrow.

I almost cried at the purple comment. Someone very dear to me use to say that and live by that. I couldn't agree more with that way of life. You go Pam!!!!

I love purple and wear it all the time.

All my critters have taught me the value of living in the now.

I think as I get older, I'm getting more mellow - I used to fly of the handle. Now it's more subtle - I call people out on things and like to watch 'em squirm.

Long live purple!

I wear purple now. That's metaphoric, but you knew that.

We've known each other long enough that I feel like I can say this to you: you can sniff my butt anytime. I'm nice that way.

Oh we love the purple thing! I don't want to do the red hat lady thing when I'm old enough, but I sure will wear purple anytime I want!

I think it's a good concept to live by JM :o)

Critters do that, don't they Pat? Make us take a look at what life is really all about.

LOL! Long live purple d. Calling people out is soooooo much fun.

Hey Mocha. Do you think they would frown on butt sniffing at BlogHer 07? I'm thinking that the mass licking was tolerated but they might just decide to draw the line ;^)

Never going there with the red hat thing either Sassy. Hats make me look old and frumpy. But I love me some red lipstick. Just make me stop when I start coloring outside the lines :o)))

Hmmm....was it my stinky kittens that inspired you?

Somehow Michelle, I got from your mention of Inspiration Point to an angel website that had a poem about furry companions. But the kitties were a nice touch too ;^)
