21st Century Lesbian Trailer Trash

These are the mad musings of a middle aged woman, dyke, nurse, poet. I have a dog, a cat, a mobile home, and delusions of grandeur.

Location: California, United States

Kimmie tagged me a couple of days ago. And then more recently, Kim, in a general gauntlet throwing for the masses. Warning: Mine are rather pedestrian for my era. Plus, I have always been a bit strange and my childhood was twisted.

1. Who was your first prom date? Like Nony, never attended a prom. I was the classic wallflower.
2. Who were your first roommate(s)? "Luey" was our nickname for one of my college friends. We shared a one bedroom apartment in Palmer Park, just north of the Wayne State campus when we were sophomores. It was also the first place I ever saw my first real live butch woman. She lived on our floor with her lover and she wore a white tee shirt with the sleeves rolled up to carry a pack of Lucky Strikes. I had no idea, at the time, why she made my stomach do flip flops.
3. What alcoholic beverage did you drink the first time you got drunk? Probably beer.
4. What was your first job? Telephone solicitor for Kirby Vacuum Cleaners. Failed miserably.
5. What was your first car? A green, 1969 AMC Rebel.
6. When did you go to your first funeral? I think it was for my friend Mary Beth's grandmother. 30 some years ago?
7. How old were you when you first moved away from your hometown? 3 years old. But truly leaving the town where my parents lived as an adult? 30.
8. Who was your first grade teacher? I cannot remember her name. I didn't like her. She was mean. My second grade teacher was Mrs. Filsinger. I loved her. She was all of 25 years old.
9. Where did you go on your first ride on an airplane? To Germany.
10. When did you sneak out of your house for the first time, who was it with? I don't believe I ever did that.
11. Who was your first Best Friend and are you still friends with them? Sandy Dodge. I have no idea where she is.
12. Where did you live the first time you moved out of your parents' house? A college rooming house in downtown Detroit.
13. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day? Probably my sister or my friend Dixie.
14. Who's wedding were you in the first time you were a bridesmaid/groomsman? In my twenties I stood up in so many weddings I lost count. It was either for my friend Mary Beth or for Susan's 3rd wedding. Or maybe it was Kent and Jan.
15. What is the first thing you do in the morning? Make coffee.
16. What was the first concert you ever went to? As in rock concert? When I was younger, I only went to classical concerts. And folk concerts. You know, old people stuff.
17. First tattoo or piercing? What age? Ears, age 18. My friends got drunk and pierced my ears with ice cubes and darning needles. Tats? I have zero.
18. First celebrity crush? Harry Belafonte.
19. Age of first kiss? 11. Dennis Kemp. Under his basement steps.
20. First crush? Donny May, the grade school bad boy. He had a battered bike and a DA.
21. First time you did drugs? I was 18 or 19. Smoked pot with my mom at a party. She passed me the joint. Not the other way around.

I'm tagging, in no particular order and with no expectations that you must comply or recognition as to whether or not you have already been tagged:

Renegade Mom

Just Me

I would love to tag the lovely Lynnie Lou who resides with the Lady de chocolate` but I don't think she has a blog. Damn her.

So I read nelle's tag first, then hopped over here and saw myself tagged! Will gladly do this. I'm gonna be a total smart ass about it. That's ok, right?

(oh hell! If I know you, you'll make 'smartass' a requirement!)

I've laughed all through yours and nelle's. They are just great. You have this wonderful mix of serious and silly - and I like that. ;-0

Wait. Didn't laugh so much at yours as I did...

...nod my head at making coffee first thing
... relating to your mom passing you a joint.

Could *that* be why you like my mom so much?

ps - why are the recognition letters to post a comment SO MUCH LONGER THE SECOND TIME? To discourage?

LOL Just Me. Misspellings, I am told, are an inERTnet requirement. In particular, it is TEH, not the. *hee*

After Mocha's remarks, I cannot wait to see yours Nelle.

And Kelly, I see you have me pegged. Smartass indeed. If the goal of the verification length is to discourage comments, it didn't work did it? :-P

So I take it I am to answer the questions on my blog then choose (tag?) someone else to do the same on hers? Will do. I plead way busy yesterday and just woke up now...after diner coffee and brekkie, I promise! ; )

No pressure Cheryl. This is a voluntary assignment only. And since the people who read this blog are all GDI's (gosh darned INDEPENDENTS), I would not presume to insist that you do your homework ;^)
